"The user attacks by wildly swinging its thorny arms.  This may also make the target flinch."
--Description for the move Needle Arm in Pokémon Omega Ruby

A model of Cacnea that I made as my second contribution to :icongame-art-hq:'s Pokémon Gen III Tribute.  He has extended the needles on his arms and is now getting ready to smack his opponent with them.  I made him from a light green pom-pom, and his arms, crown, legs, and body patterns are made of green and light yellow felt.  I also used some green and light yellow thread to sew his limbs and crown.  His mouth, sclera, and the stripes on his body were drawn on with black acrylic paint, his irises are two tiny white beads with the black pupils painted in, and the spikes on his head and arms are broken points from a green pencil.  Cacnea is about 1 3/8 inches (3.49 cm) tall and his arms measure about 1 5/8 inches (4.13 cm) from tip to tip.

For the longest time, I wasn't sure how I was going to get him to stand up on those tiny legs.  Then I got the idea of gluing him onto a platform.  I used a circle of camel-colored felt to make it, and I dotted it with brown acrylic paint to represent desert sand.  (It looks more like a chocolate chip cookie, though, doesn't it?  He's protecting his food, ready to fight anyone who dares try and take it from him. :Dcookie love )  I used erasers, small boxes, and other stuff to hold Cacnea in place while the glue dried.  The platform has a circumference of about 6.68 inches (16.97 cm).

Cacnea and Pokémon belong to Nintendo.
